5.0 Case Study

1) How many different things did you count? What were they? In what ways might computers be used to control different things in the supermarket?

I count 9 different thing ,they are microwave, car, gadgets, satellite navigation, park barrier, credit card, Parking sensors, expensive robot. Air-condition, counter and light are the different things in the supermarket.

2) Why is it useful to use computers rather than people to control things? What problems might there be if any of the computer systems fail in the super market?

Because sometimes people will counting wrong and they may go the wrong money to people. If the systems fail in the supermarket, people may count wrong and give the money to people wrongly.

3) Describe the inputs and outputs for the other devices that we have talked about far. How do the super market doors and car park barriers know when to open? Identify often control systems that work automatically in this way.

The way of inputting instruction is using buttons. Outputting is something come out from the computor.

4)What would happen if the instructions were wrong? These instruction assume that the car is in the right place. What would happen if the car were not there? How could they stop this happen?

If the instruction were wrong, the robots must stop working and they can't make any car until the robots work. If the car were not there, it must crash to somewhere. They could find a big robot to stop this happen
